What Donations We accept
Big Clothing Donation accepts a wide range of clothing and household goods in reasonably good, resale-ready condition. As a rule of thumb, items should be clean, smaller than roughly 18 by 18 by 18 inches, and not food. Book a free pickup or find a bin, and your donation helps fund youth mentoring across the communities we serve.
What we accept
Clothing & footwear
Men's, women's, children's, and baby clothing. Shoes of every size and style, outerwear and coats, activewear, swimwear, sleepwear, maternity, uniforms, costumes, and special-occasion wear.
Bags & accessories
Purses, wallets, and bags, belts and suspenders, gloves, hats, scarves, jewelry and hair accessories, backpacks, diaper bags, luggage, and cosmetic bags.
Linens & bedding
Towels and washcloths, blankets, bedding and pillows, curtains and tablecloths, napkins and placemats, shower curtains, bedspreads, comforters, and mattress pads.
Home & kitchen
Bakeware, cookware, pots and pans, cutlery and utensils, dishes and tableware, cutting boards, small appliances such as toasters and blenders, and décor like frames, vases, and clocks.
Tech & electronics
Phones, tablets, and laptops, smart home devices, headphones and earbuds, chargers and cables, gaming consoles and accessories, Bluetooth speakers, external drives, and wearables.
Entertainment & leisure
Toys and games, musical instruments, board games and puzzles, outdoor sports equipment, camping gear, and home projectors.
Personal care & wellness
Hair tools such as dryers and straighteners, fitness equipment and free weights, yoga and meditation gear, and beauty tools.
Pet supplies
Pet toys, collars, leashes, grooming kits, pet beds, and pet tech such as automatic feeders and trackers.
Outdoor & garden
Garden and hand tools, grilling accessories, small planters and pots, bird feeders and baths, and outdoor lighting.
Media & art
Records, CDs, and DVDs, art supplies, sketchbooks, and books. Please place books in our designated book bins.
What we cannot accept
Furniture, mattresses and box springs, large appliances (stove, washer), baby equipment, mirrors, boats or vehicles and car parts, carpet, area rugs and window blinds, building materials and paints, console TVs, monitors, stereos and full-size pianos, BBQs and lawnmowers, and encyclopedias or magazines. Anything soiled, torn, unsafe, or larger than roughly 18 by 18 by 18 inches also cannot be accepted.
Preparing donations for pickup
- Place items in a tied bag or a taped box, and label each one "BB" so our drivers can tell your donation apart from other parcels.
- Set your donation outside before 7:30 AM on your scheduled pickup date.
- Keep items clean, dry, and resale-ready. Nothing soiled, torn, or unsafe.
- Aim for bags and boxes light enough for one person to carry.
Manage a building, office, or strata?
Host a free indoor donation bin and give residents, staff, or students an easy way to donate on site. We deliver the bin, service it regularly, and handle the logistics at no cost to you.

Where your donation goes
Items you donate are resold through our thrift partners, and the proceeds fund youth mentoring programs run by the agencies we serve across the Lower Mainland, the Fraser Valley, Langley, and Edmonton. A bag from your closet becomes steady support for a young person in your region.
